US Embassy says flight ban lifting 'signals confidence in Lebanon's future'
The U.S. Embassy in Beirut on Sunday thanked President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for "their leadership in bringing a long-held Lebanese dream closer to reality: direct flights between Lebanon and the United States."
"This important step strengthens trust between our two countries and signals confidence in Lebanon's future. Direct flights would bring families closer together, strengthen ties with the Lebanese American community, and make it easier for American businesses to explore opportunities and invest in Lebanon," the Embassy said.
"We look forward to working with our Lebanese partners to turn this opportunity into a reality that benefits both our peoples and supports a more prosperous Lebanon," it added.
