Macron backs sovereign Lebanese state that ensures Hezbollah disarmament

French President Emmanuel Macron has accused Israel of violating the sovereignty of all its neighboring states, in a speech at the annual meeting of the U.N. General Assembly.

Macron also affirmed France's support for a sovereign Lebanese state that ensures the disarmament of Hezbollah.

"We are committed to supporting the replacement of UNIFIL forces in Lebanon," he added, while stressing the necessity of respecting Lebanon's sovereignty and the rights of its people.

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad for his part stressed solidarity with Lebanon and emphasized support for Lebanon's state institutions and their sovereignty over the entire national territory.
