US tells Israel to 'end the fighting' in Iran, Gaza, Lebanon
U.S. Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper told Israel in a visit during the weekend that the United States wants Israel to end the fighting on the three active fronts – Iran, Gaza and Lebanon, Israel’s Channel 13 reported.
According to the channel, the Israeli military informed the U.S. side that it reserves the option of intervening in Iran if intelligence indicates that Tehran is “continuing its efforts to acquire nuclear weapons and rehabilitate its ballistic missile program.”
In Lebanon, the Americans are demanding that the Israeli army withdraw from additional positions in the security zone in the south of the country, while in Gaza, they are calling for progress and the deployment of the multinational force, which currently includes hundreds of troops from Morocco and Uganda, the channel said.
The channel also quoted a senior Israeli military officer as saying that the American message to the Israeli army is to move forward with closing the three fronts.
