Aoun says he will do the 'impossible' to stop war with Israel
President Joseph Aoun said Monday that he would do the 'impossible' in order to stop the war with Israel, after a ceasefire and direct talks failed to end the fighting.
"The framework that Lebanon has set for the negotiations consists of an Israeli withdrawal, a ceasefire, the deployment of the army along the border, the return of the displaced, and economic aid," Aoun said in a statement.
"My duty, based on my position and my responsibility, is to do the impossible, and to choose what is least costly, in order to stop the war against Lebanon and its people," he said.

It is Ironic he does not mention the disarming of hizballah, has he caved to the threats he has been receiving from the iranian terrorists, or is he just continuing the same agenda he always has when he was the army general while hizballah abused and assassinated anyone who defied them.

It would be enlightened self-interest were the Shia communities to quit Hezbollah and back President Aoun.

Stop thinking in terms of the 1970s.
Start openly and enthusiastically backing the actions President Aoun takes in leading the Republic to a better future.

God Bless the LAF. Under funded, ill equiped(mainly because of israeli and us veto's on the LAF owning anything that poses a threat to israel). The stupidity of the israelis is astonishing knowing this-yet they demand the LAF disarm a group that's had a 30 year head start funded and equiped by iran with weapons the LAF can currently only dream of.
