Khamenei adviser: Hezbollah more necessary than water and bread to Lebanon

W460

Ali Akbar Velayati, an adviser to Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said Wednesday that “Hezbollah’s presence has become more necessary to Lebanon than water and bread.”

“Hezbollah has been a rescuer of the Lebanese people,” the adviser suggested.

“Iran has supported and will continue to support Hezbollah and Israel’s attacks show the disastrous results of any Hezbollah disarmament,” Velayati added.

“Hezbollah’s presence is an indispensable necessity to Lebanon,” the adviser stressed.

Unbelievable our government hasn't expelled Iranian ambassador & sued Iran in international courts for the damage its mercenaries have caused in Lebanon. The $100 billion Iranian frozen funds are not even enough to cover the damages of this criminal militia & mercenaries. This is a new low for president & government. Weakness & incompetence beyond belief. President & army chief must resign now! Total embarrassment & incompetence!

Letter to the editor: Gaining civil rights for Shias should be top priority
Posted February 5, 2015
Noam Chomsky says that Shias are the majority of Lebanon’s population, such that, if free elections were held and if Shias threw all their support to Hezbollah, it could form the government entirely on its own. Yet Article 24 of the Lebanese Constitution reserves half of parliamentary seats for Christians, who number, by my own guess, around a quarter of the population.
Here, in a nutshell, you have the Shia sense of grievance that makes Hezbollah so dynamic a force in politics, and yet also the solution to two problems.
Hezbollah militancy and Lebanese political instability would both be ameliorated if Hezbollah put its main effort into gaining civil rights and political representation for Lebanon’s Shias – and the U.S. could be on the right side of history by aiding that cause.
So go ahead and tell me why not, please.

Separate Lebanon from Hizbollastan and Lebanon will once again become Paris & Switzerland of the Middle East, restore dignity & respect and its leading cultural & intellectual role. Iran criminal mercenaries called Hizbollah have raped Lebanese culture, assassinated dozens of leaders, destroyed our economy, and turned the best Arab country into a bankrupt beggar nation. Worse, they turned Hizbollastan into indoctrinated brainless Basij dummies with nothing in common with rest of Lebanon. Duo have sucked the life out of Lebanon. Made lira worthless erasing savings & pensions. Pushing millions into poverty unable to afford food or medicine while Iran mercenaries spending billions on weapons, in addition to tax evasion, money laundering & drug/Captagon illicit trade. The quicker the division from this cancer, the quicker the blessings!
