Israeli forces entered two U.N. schools in annexed east Jerusalem Thursday to enforce their closure, an AFP photographer reported, as the United Nations confirmed three schools were closed in the city's Shuafat refugee camp.

The photographer reported that a closure notice in Hebrew was left at the entrance of at least one of the schools, and the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) which runs them said at least one of its staff was detained.

The Palestinian Authority condemned the closure of schools in East Jerusalem.

"The Palestinian Ministry of Education condemns Israel's closure of UNRWA schools in Shuafat, considering it a violation of children's right to education," ministry spokesman Sadiq Khaddour told AFP, adding it hoped that pressure from rights groups would cause Israel to reverse its decision.

The UN and UNRWA refused to apply by the law which specifically forbid them operating in the country, so the law enforcers had to take matters into their own hands.
No matter what Israel does the PA will condemn it, so who really cares.
Nobody is denying the children their right to education, but are attempting to avoid them being the objects of hate indoctrination.

By the way, "East" Jerusalem was occupied from control of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan which occupied it from 1948-1967, so why does the so-called "Palestinian Authority" have a say in the matter?
