Former singer and fugitive Fadel Shaker has been spotted on Saturday wandering, along with his bodyguards, in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain al-Hilweh, al-Akhbar daily reported Monday.
Surveillance cameras in the camp also spotted Shaker accompanying his nephew, the daily added.

Japan's government said Monday it was investigating a video posted online that appears to show a kidnapped Japanese man being roughly interrogated by Syrian militants.
The video, which surfaced over the weekend, shows a man who identified himself as Haruna Yukawa lying on the ground with blood trickling down his face as his apparent captors question him.

At least 31 Islamic State militants were killed in Syrian air force raids Sunday in the northern province of Raqa, a stronghold of the jihadist fighters, a monitoring group said.
"The regime carried out 13 raids on the city of Raqa and 11 on the town of Tabqa in Raqa province, killing at least 31 jihadists and wounding dozens of them," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Australia will offer to resettle some 4,400 people fleeing violence in Iraq and Syria, Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said Sunday, adding the places had been freed up by success in stopping asylum-seeker boats.
Boat arrivals have all but dried up since Australia said it would refuse resettlement to any refugees arriving on unauthorized vessels, sending them instead to Papua New Guinea and Nauru in the Pacific.

Syrian government troops have reportedly urged the residents of the eastern border village of Tufail to evacuate it ahead of a planned shelling, said the Kuwaiti al-Anbaa newspaper on Sunday.
The remaining residents of the village were warned to evacuate the area otherwise they may be harmed in the shelling.

Jihadists have killed over 700 tribal members in eastern Syria, monitors said Saturday, and are battling to seize a northern rebel bastion, sparking an appeal for an Iraq-style Western intervention.
