Syria's regime is willing to meet the country's opposition in Moscow to seek a way out of the nearly four-year civil war, a government official said on Saturday.

"Syria is ready to participate in a preliminary and consultative meeting in Moscow to respond to the aspirations of Syrians who are trying to find a solution to the crisis," the foreign ministry official said, quoted by SANA state news agency.

Indonesian police Saturday arrested six people just before they were about to fly to Syria to join the Islamic State group, the latest in a growing wave of sympathizers emerging from the world's most populous Muslim nation.

Those arrested at Jakarta's Soekarno Hatta airport at dawn included a couple and their 10-year-old child, with police saying they were attempting to travel on fake passports.

The U.S.-led coalition pounded the Islamic State group with 39 air strikes Thursday and Friday, including more than a dozen near the flashpoint Syrian town of Kobane.

The 13 strikes conducted Thursday in Kobane, which is known as Ain al-Arab in Arabic, destroyed 17 fighting positions, as well as IS buildings, staging areas and a vehicle, the U.S.-led anti-IS coalition said in a statement.

Technical failure caused a Jordanian pilot captured by Islamic State group jihadists in Syria to eject after flying at low altitude, activists and a monitoring group told Agence France-Presse on Friday.

The U.S.-led coalition pounded the Islamic State jihadist group with 31 air strikes Friday, including more than a dozen in the flashpoint Syrian town of Kobane, the Pentagon said.

Jordan's military Friday denied claims by the Islamic State group to have shot down one of its warplanes which crashed in Syria, after the pilot was captured by the jihadists.

Iraq and Turkey on Thursday pledged to join forces to fight Islamic State insurgents who are holding swathes of Iraq and Syria.

"ISIS threatens not only Iraq's and Turkey's security but the entire region," Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi told a joint news conference with his Turkish counterpart, Ahmet Davutoglu, using an alternative name for IS jihadists.
