Interior Minister Nouhad Mashnouq warned on Friday the law enforcement agents against abusing Syrian refugees after pictures showing some being mistreated by municipal police were posted online.
Mashnouq said in a letter to heads of municipalities that officers would face "disciplinary measures" if they abuse their power when dealing with citizens and Syrian refugees.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat hailed on Saturday the reactivation of efforts with regard to Lebanon's oil and gas wealth, after a dispute over excavation between the Free Patriotic Movement and the AMAL Movement was reportedly settled a day earlier.

Hizbullah has reportedly destroyed Islamic State group positions entrenched on the outskirts of the border town of Ras Baalbek and al-Zwaytineh, al-Manar TV said on Saturday.
The TV station said that Hizbullah fighters bombarded two positions during the attack and that several were killed and wounded.

Al-Mustaqbal Movement chief MP Saad Hariri met with Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea late on Wednesday where talks denounced the attacks that targeted the eastern town of al-Qaa and rejected the principle of “autonomous security”, Hariri's media office said on Thursday.
