Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat praised the Lebanese army's incessant efforts in maintaining stability and thwarting terror plots aiming to destabilize the country, Jumblat's media office said in a statement on Saturday.

A prominent suspect believed to be involved in bombing attack plots targeting Beirut and the southern city of Sidon is in the grip of the Lebanese army and General Security, the National News Agency reported on Saturday.

Lebanese Forces Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani held talks with Marada Movement chief MP Suleiman Franjieh in Bnachii on Friday stressing that relations between the two Christian parties are “open and will continue for the country's benefit.”

Although relations between the Lebanese Forces and Marada have been a little marred, but "these relations continue and will stay open for the country's benefit,” the Deputy Prime Minister Hasbani told reporters after the meeting.

President Michel Aoun on Friday lamented the fact that encampments for Syrian refugees in Lebanon are turning into military camps and a safe haven for militants planning terror attacks against the country's troops and citizens.

The Internal Security Forces on Friday have arrested in Mount Lebanon's town of Sofar the suspects believed to be involved in robbing Bank Audi earlier this week, the National News Agency reported.

The three suspects were identified by their initials and hail from the Fayyad family.

Seven soldiers were wounded at dawn when suicide bombers blew themselves up while the army was staging raids on two encampments of Syrian refugees in al-Nour and al-Qarieh in the northeastern border town of Arsal, the Army Command-Orientation Directorate said in a statement released on Friday.

“At dawn, the Lebanese army was on a mission to inspect the Syrian refugee encampment of al-Nour in Arsal when a suicide bomber blew himself up close to the army patrol. The attacker was killed and three soldiers were seriously wounded,” said the statement.

Israel accused the peacekeeping United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) of becoming an “excuse for Hizbullah and the Lebanese government to violate UN resolution 1701,” media reports said on Thursday.

An Israeli military source was quoted by al-Monitor as saying that “UNIFIL was supposed to be the enforcement apparatus for Security Council Resolution 1701, but in fact it has become a fig leaf,” for the resolution that was issued by the International Community in 2006.
