General Security Chief Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim held talks on Tuesday with Force Commander and Head of Mission of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Major-General Michael Beary, the National News Agency said.
Talks between the two men have reportedly focused on the situation along Lebanon's southern border after the extension of the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon.
Lebanon's army and authorities have conveyed a “strong” message to representatives of the Palestinian factions in the southern refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh to help in “handing over all the fugitives” taking refuge in the camp, “mainly extremists Bilal Badr and Shadi al-Mawlawi,” and end recurrent tension deviating to areas close to the restive camp, al-Joumhouria daily reported on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia has lashed out at what it said are “brutal crimes” of Hizbullah, meanwhile Lebanese diplomatic sources told al-Joumhouria daily on Tuesday that Lebanon will pay the price of Hizbullah's “madness” and intervention in regional conflicts.
In a comment posted on Twitter, Saudi Minister of State for Gulf Affairs Thamer al-Sabhan lashed out at Hizbullah accusing the party of committing “brutal crimes,” as he urged the Lebanese to stand against it.

Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Ali Fayyad stated that Lebanon is “better off than any of its neighboring countries in terms of security and sovereignty,” hailing the Resistance's “vital role” in producing “this reality,” the National News Agency reported on Monday.
“Lebanon is better off than any of its neighboring countries in terms of security, stability and safeguarding the border mainly that the Resistance has played a fundamental and vital role in producing this reality,” said Fayyad during a religious ceremony in the southern Tayybeh town.

Head of the Palestinian National Security Forces in Lebanon Maj. Gen. Sobhi Abou Arab said on Monday that “coordination between the Palestinian security forces and the Lebanese State continue,” and that a special committee was formed to "coordinate the handing over of fugitives" hiding in a restive refugee camp in Sidon to the Lebanese State.
“Coordination is ongoing between the (Palestinian) security forces and the Lebanese army,” to maintain stability at the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh in Sidon, said Abou Arab in an interview to the VDL (93.3).

A convoy loaded with Islamic State fighters evacuated from the Lebanon-Syria border region was headed back into deep Syria on Thursday after being blocked at the Iraq border, a top U.S. general said.
Lieutenant General Stephen Townsend, commander of the counter-IS coalition in Iraq and Syria, said the convoy of buses and vans carrying hundreds of fighters but also women and children had turned around after being restocked with food and water from forces allied with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
