The U.S., Israel and Iran agree that a ceasefire is now in effect, but they're contradicting each other and themselves in terms of what's actually been agreed and what happens now, U.S. news portal Axios reported on Wednesday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi raised "ceasefire violations" by Israel with Pakistani mediators on Wednesday, an Iranian ministry statement said, as reports citing senior officials warned that Tehran could pull out of the truce over attacks on Lebanon.

Two ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz since Iran agreed to reopen the waterway as part of a ceasefire deal, maritime monitor Marine Traffic said Wednesday.

"The Greek-owned bulk carrier NJ Earth crossed the Strait at 08:44 UTC, while the Liberia-flagged Daytona Beach transited earlier at 06:59 UTC, shortly after departing Bandar Abbas at 05:28 UTC", MarineTraffic said on X.

Iran launched missile and drone attacks on Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates after airstrikes against oil facilities on Iran's Lavan island on Wednesday morning, state television reported.

"Missile and drone attacks on the Emirates and Kuwait have taken place a few hours after the targeting of Lavan island oil facilities in Iran," IRIB said in a report.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sherif announced early Wednesday that a two-week Iran-U.S. ceasefire would also include Lebanon.

The U.S. has agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran proposed by Pakistan, U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday night.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif said Tuesday that "diplomatic efforts for peaceful settlement of the ongoing war in the Middle East are progressing steadily, strongly and powerfully with the potential to lead to substantive results in near future," despite the unprecedented tensions in the region.

Progress has been made in the past 24 hours in the negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, though reaching a ceasefire deal by U.S. President Donald Trump's 8pm ET deadline still looks like a long shot, a U.S. official, an Israeli official and two other sources with knowledge of the talks told U.S. news portal Axios.

The White House denied Tuesday that remarks by Vice President JD Vance about military operations in Iran had contained any suggestion of a U.S. nuclear strike against the Islamic republic.

U.S. President Donald Trump warned "a whole civilization will die" in Iran if the country does not heed his midnight cutoff to open the Strait of Hormuz, as Tehran reported U.S.-Israeli attacks on its infrastructure were already underway.
