Netanyahu hints Israel staged unannounced operation in Lebanon
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Israel has “acted with force in Lebanon” in recent days, noting that it has eliminated “terrorists,” including “on the Ali Taher ridge” in the Nabatieh region.
“I cannot elaborate on this. We are in the midst of a very important operation,” Netanyahu told a cabinet meeting.
“We are working prudently and wisely -- with both determination and wisdom, alongside the Israel Defense Forces (Israeli army) -- and eliminating threats,” Netanyahu added.
Media reports have said that Hezbollah fighters and Iranian Revolutionary Guard elements are besieged in tunnels in the Ali al-Taher area.
