Israeli strikes destroy key Qasmiyeh Bridge, cutting off south Litani region

The Israeli military carried out two strikes against a key bridge in the south of Lebanon on Thursday, destroying it, the state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported.

"Enemy aircraft carried out two consecutive strikes on the Qasmieh bridge, the last bridge between the Tyre and Sidon regions, completely destroying it," the NNA said.

The strategic Qasmiyeh Bridge is the final artery connecting the north and south of the Litani River. Its destruction isolates localities south of the Litani River from the rest of the country.

The Israeli army also carpet bombed the Nabatieh region, and targeted Sultanieh, Tayrharfa, Siddiqine, al-Wasta, Zawtar, Arab Salim, al-Majadel, Aramta, Ain Bousoir, al-Qasmieh, Habboush, Deir Qanoun, Kafra, Haris, Touline, al-Qlayleh, Mansouri, Aitit, Hanaway, Nsarieh, Bnaafoul and Froun.

Strikes also a car on the Dahr al-Baydar road and another on the coastal Saadiyat highway south of Beirut.
