Trump arrives in South Korea where he will meet China's Xi

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said a trade deal with South Korea would be finalized soon, ahead of a meeting with the country's President Lee Jae Myung later in the day.

"Our deal with the Republic of Korea will be finalized very soon," he told delegates at the APEC CEO summit in the South Korean city of Gyeongju.

"We're really we're wedded, and we have a very special relationship, a special bond. In fact, we're working with you on shipbuilding," he added.

Trump is also expected to meet in South Korea with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

He said Wednesday he was not sure whether he would discuss the sensitive topic of self-ruling Taiwan during his meeting with Xi on Thursday but that he expected a "lot of problems" to be solved in the meeting .

"I don't know that we'll even speak about Taiwan. I'm not sure. He may want to ask about it. There's not that much to ask about. Taiwan is Taiwan," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.

"I think we're going to have a great meeting with President Xi of China, and a lot of problems are going to be solved".
